Hi there, I’m Martin Shiels and I have many years of experience in editing and proofing material across a range of disciplines and subjects.
Born in Dublin, I am a native English speaker with an understanding of the conventions of both UK and US English. I originally trained as an artist but for over twenty-five years I worked in administration, mainly in legal offices. During that time, I completed a BA in Civil Law in my own time while raising a young family. With experience in such diverse disciplines, I bring the imagination of the artist, the rigour of the jurist, and the discipline of the working parent to all of my work.
In my spare time, I enjoy exploring the diverse and vibrant world of visual art, both at home and abroad. From gallery exhibitions to studio visits, I’m always seeking fresh perspectives and inspiration. Follow along on Instagram to see what I’m discovering.
